About the Department

The Department of Food Processing technology and Management established in the year 2019 with sanctioned strength of 60 students. The department has excellent infrastructure with a Food Science laboratory, Food chemistry laboratory and Food Microbiology laboratory. Equipments like Muffle Furnace, Electric Oven, Tray Driers, Refrigerator, Centrifuges, UV- Vis Spectro photo meter, Colorimeters, Microscopes, Water bath, Incubators, distillation unit, Hot Air Oven, Deep freezer and others are part of these laboratories. The demand for processed foods is growing and is an emerging field with tremendous job opportunities. Graduates of Food processing technology and Management are employed in public and private sectors as Food technologists in production or R & D units, Quality assurance managers, Laboratory supervisors or technical specialist, Process or Production Manager, Food scientists, technical managers or in marketing.

Programme Description

Our B.Sc., Food processing technology and management course involves the study of food processing technology of cereal and pulses processing, fruit and vegetable processing and meat processing, Drying technology, Food fermentation technology, dairy technology, food safety management etc., As food technologist, it is necessary to do the research required for the future, innovative and nutritious food products. Our practical?s has a main focus to do so. The final year as a part of curriculum will spend on the mini project to overcome a specific scientific concern.
