About the Club
Consumer Club of HICAS is planned to be activated from February 19th 2021 through some structured events. To ignite young minds and to spread consumer awareness among students Consumer Club HICAS looks forward to organize Seminars, Workshops and Talks on a regular basis. Consumer Club HICAS initiates to takes up innovative activities to reach information gained through consumer club among their fellow students as well as among the people living in their respective locality, to organize and actively participate in consumer protection programmes organized in College & Schools as well as in the locality to observe National Consumer Day and World Consumer Rights day. The activities of our club proposes to organize workshops and awareness programs about Consumer Responsibilities & Rights, Misleading Advertisements, Food Safety (Food Adulteration, Food Nutrition, Food Preservatives, and Food Contamination), Combating Adulteration, Hospitals and Patients’ Rights, Transport, Insurance, Consumer Durables, Digital Technologies and Consumer Protection Act.lub have participated in a live.

Objectives
♦ To bring awareness and realization about duties and responsibilities as Citizens of India.
♦ To enable the students groups to work together as a team with local communities and develop in to caring, responsible and honest citizens.
♦ To work with the existing laws in order to protect consumer’s interest and general health.
♦ Impart knowledge about real life situations and to enable development of skills to handle citizen and consumer issues.
Club Activities
♦ The Department of Commerce (Professional Accounting) and Department of Commerce (Accounting & Finance) in association with the ”HICAS CONSUMER CLUB” on 15th March, 2021 conducted a Quiz Competition on “CONSUMER RIGHTS”.
♦ The Department of Commerce (Professional Accounting) and Department of Commerce (Accounting & Finance) jointly with the Hicas Consumer Club conducted an Awareness Programme on the “Recent Updates in Consumer Protection Act, 2019” on 19th August, 2021.
♦ The Department of Commerce (Professional Accounting) and Department of Commerce (Accounting & Finance) jointly with the Hicas Consumer Club and NSS conducted an Awareness Programme against Plastics on 14th Dec, 2021.
